Volunteer at Kirkland Museum
As of 1.29.14, Kirkland Museum does not have any volunteer opportunities available. We will update this page as positions open.
Please contact Megan Sullivan, Coordinator of Volunteers, with any questions.
Work surrounded by great art, great design and great people.
Visitor Services/Museum Support: Kirkland Museum operates with a small staff, so volunteers have the opportunity to wear many hats in assisting in museum operations including greeting visitors, accepting admissions, gift shop sales, answering phones, data entry, preparing mailings, and keeping public spaces and break areas attractive and tidy. Volunteers commit to four hour shifts, weekly or biweekly
Gallery Attendants: Gallery Attendants serve throughout the museum to orient visitors, explain the collection, answer questions and help ensure the safety of visitors and the objects.
Docents: Docents lead tours of the collection and are given training in design, decorative art, Colorado art history, American art pottery, as well as an in depth study of Vance Kirkland.
Special Events: Volunteers are needed for a few hours, approximately quarterly, for preparation, hosting and clean-up for member and public events at the museum and off-site venues. Help is always needed for pouring drinks, filling food trays, greeting visitors, and assisting staff to set up tables and wash dishes.
All applicants must complete an interview, criminal background check and credit check.
All volunteers receive discounts in the museum store and opportunities for further training and advancement.
